Yes. The Saturday German course at ILS Basel takes place exclusively on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. This makes it particularly suitable for people who don't have time for regular language classes during the week.

Is a Saturday class a good option if I work full-time?

Yes. For working professionals in particular, a weekend course is a practical alternative to evening or intensive courses. You only have one fixed class time per week, so you can keep Monday through Friday free for work and other commitments.

Is one German class a week enough?

Even with a weekly course, you can make steady progress. It’s important to review regularly between Saturdays and to use German as often as possible in your daily life. ILS Basel also provides homework assignments and exercises for self-study.

How long does it take to complete one level of German in the Saturday class?

A1, A2, and B1 each last 24 weeks and consist of 96 lessons. B2 and C1 each last 32 weeks and consist of 128 lessons. A single sublevel lasts 12 weeks for levels A1 through B1 and 16 weeks for levels B2 through C1.

Is the Saturday German class also suitable for beginners?

Yes. The course is offered from A1 to C1. If you have no prior knowledge of German, you can start with A1. If you have already studied German, your appropriate level should be determined before you begin.

Can I learn German for everyday use in Basel by taking the Saturday class?

Yes. The course covers conversation, listening comprehension, and writing, among other things. In addition, ILS Basel organizes activities and field trips that allow students to put their German skills into practice outside of traditional classroom settings.
