I just finished the B1 super-intensive course here, and I had a very positive experience. I had a few gaps in my knowledge from the A2 level, but I still found the course manageable and, for the most part, not too hard to understand—thanks to our teacher, Luca. Yes. The Golden Age Italian course is specifically designed for learners aged 50 and older. Courses are offered from A1 to C1, so you can start from scratch or build on your existing knowledge of Italian.

The current Golden Age Italian course in Basel is a group course. It starts with a minimum of 3 participants and is organized by language level. This allows you to learn alongside others who also want to build their Italian skills at a pace that suits them.

For levels A1, A2, and B1, classes are held on Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Classes for levels B2 and C1 are held on Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

A single sub-level lasts 12 weeks and consists of 36 lessons. A full level lasts 24 weeks and consists of 72 lessons. Shorter course durations are also available upon request.

Yes. If you've studied Italian before and have forgotten a lot of it, a placement test can help you determine the right level. That way, you won't necessarily have to start over at A1 if you already have some prior knowledge you can build on.

Yes. Knowing Italian can be especially useful when traveling to Italy or staying in Ticino. Regular lessons help you build vocabulary and language structures that you can actively use in everyday situations.

Yes. If you'd like to join a mini-group that has already started, you can do so as long as your level matches that of the group. In this case, you'll only pay for the classes you've actually booked.
